You had just gotten home from the local electronics store. Your mysterious employer required that you'd purchase a VHS player for your upcoming task. After setting it up to your television, you heard a knock at the door.
[[Answer the door]]Upon opening a door, there was a cardboard box on the floor. You brought it in and found several tapes inside, each labeled with roman numerals. You take everything out and sit by your VHS player.
[[Play tape "I"]]You play the first tape, dated 10/09/97.
A meteorologist is on the news, presenting the 7 day forecast. He claims that the weather will be perfect with clear skies, expecting a cool few days while the local town festival occurrs.
However, at the bottom of the screen, a banner exclaims breaking news of a potential chemical spill in the nearby mountains. Officials at the time were unsure what effects it would have on the nearby environment.
The tape ends.
[[Eject the tape]]
The tape comes out of the player completely ruined, as if playing it the one time was enough to destroy it.
There are still more tapes to observe.
[[Play tape "II"]]The second tape appears to show clips from the town festival the last tape mentioned. This was clearly an advertisement for the event. As you watched, you noticed a frame would flash, but you weren't able to see what it showed.
[[Rewind to see what you missed]]

You Rewinded the tape and went forward frame by frame until you saw it. It appeared to be a heavily sensored picture of corpses dumped into an unmarked mass burial pit by men in hazmat suits.

As clips of families enjoying their days played, their voices were dubbed over with their own cries for help. Something terrifyingly awful must have happened to these people.
The tape ends.
[[Eject tape "II"]]
The second tape also breaks upon being ejected. You start to get the feeling that this is no simple job, and that you are being asked to put the pieces together.
[[Play tape "III"]]
As the tape plays, you see a house front door from the inside. It seemed to be filmed from a home tape recorder. Someone was knocking at the door. "It's 2:34 in the morning. I live up in the mountains all alone, I have no idea who that could be." The person filming said.
"I don't know what to do. What do you think?" It was a tape recorded over 20 years ago, but it felt like the person was asking you directly.
[[Answer the door.]]
[[Don't answer the door]]The knocking persists. Suddenly the lights go out and the guy filming begins to panic. The knocking became banging on the door.
The banging got louder until the tape suddenly ended.
[[Eject tape "III"]]The man steps out in front of the camera and slowy unlocks the door. The camera feed cuts out but you can hear screaming as soon as the door opens.
The tape suddenly ends.
[[Eject tape "III"]]
Again, the tape broke upon ejecting.
There seemed to be one last tape.
[[Play the last tape]]The third tape plays to show a reporter and a camera man hiking up into a mountain. The two are discussing how ridiculous the rumor they were going after sounded.
"A random waterfall out in the middle of nowhere thats acidic... Surely were being pranked right?" The reporter said, trying to hide the concern in his voice.
The two made it to the waterfall after hiking off the trail for a few miles, and found a safe spot to stand. Nothing seemed off, but they weren't foolish enough to test it. As they stood there, the water began to creep up the spot they stood on and they began to panic.
Who survives?
[[The camera man]]
[[The reporter]]The camera man shoved the reporter into the water and crosses back to dry land, using the now corroding body of the reporter as a bridge. He runs for his life back to the trail, and begins to shout for help. The camera falls out of his hands and the tape continues to play until it runs out of footage.
[[Eject the last tape]]After the two scream at each other in a panic, the camera falls into the water, and the tape ends.
[[Eject the last tape]]
As the tape ejects and is destroyed, you wonder what this series of tapes was all about. What and where is this acidic waterfall? Did the rain cause all those horrific deaths? You noticed the last tape was labeled "The Wonders of Mt. Baldy", referring to a mountain not too far from you, so you got dressed, equipped yourself for a hike, and made your way for the door. When you opened the door, It was raining. The Wonders of Mt. Baldy
